The FIBEr Dashboard offers sample and data management through a web interface with integrated staff card authentication and a barcode scanner to register, look up samples or start experiments. Our customized FIBEr Labeller prints unique 10 digit barcodes. Internally, the FIBEr Database keeps track of generated labels, registered samples and references to experimental data that is automatically and securely stored in the FIBEr Cloud.
The FIBEr Private LAN connects all FIBEr test set-ups in a separate network, disconnected from the Internet to avoid data leaks and network intrusion. Sample information and experiment (meta)data is locally collected by the FIBEr Mediator, which packages and ships it to mirrored data storage at KU Leuven Central ICTS, which is part of our FIBEr Cloud Services. FIBEr hereby wants to set an example on how professionally maintained ICT services are exploited to improve research data management.
