What is the MICRO-COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY?
The Skyscan 1272 is a high-resolution desktop X-ray micro-computed
tomography system designed for scanning small objects. It includes
a built-in precision micropositioning stage and can scan samples
during compression, tension, cooling or heating. The connected
workstation has software for GPU accelerated image reconstruction,
visualization and 2D/3D numerical analysis of the images.
Application example
The micro-CT is used to visualize and quantify the 3D microporosity of mouse cortical bone as a function of age.
